Welcome to Joys Cottage Counselling.

Have you been feeling stuck and that you would like to see a change in your life?
Are you having relationship difficulties? Are you feeling low? Do you find yourself overwhelmed by anxiety?
There are many different reasons that bring people to counselling.

Together we explore possible changes and solutions through a relationship that is confidential and non-judgmental. 
I can help you reach a deeper understanding of yourself and your thoughts,
feelings and actions, to clarify your situation, gain new confidence,
feel more in control and make the necessary changes for a fulfilling life.


What is therapy?

Psychotherapy, also known as counselling, is the process of exploring and discussing any specific issues you may be facing.
The aim is to help individuals, couples and families overcome any
problems in their lives and ultimately restore emotional well-being.

As your psychotherapist, it is my job to guide you through the therapeutic process in a way that will promote your well-being.
Depending on the circumstances that led to you seeking psychotherapy or counselling,
we may look at your history and why you have been feeling affected by your situation.

Our first session is an opportunity to discuss what you wish to gain from therapy and what you can expect from our meetings.
During subsequent therapy sessions we may explore a range of past feelings and experiences
in order to understand how they affected your current state of mind.
This can create a greater sense of understanding and self-awareness
that will help you restore your sense of self and emotional well-being.

In addition to guiding you through your thoughts, emotions and feelings
using integrative therapeutic interventions,
my role is to equip you with a range of practical and emotional tools
that you will be able to apply
to your life moving forwards.

Online Counselling

Online, email and telephone counselling offers individuals the same level of support and confidentiality as meeting face to face with a qualified counsellor or therapist. Get in touch.

Family Therapy

Family Counselling, also known as Systemic Therapy is an approach that works with families to encourage conversation and communicate better with each other, in order to resolve issues.

Intercultural counselling

All relationships are to some extent cross-cultural, in the sense that both parties come together from different backgrounds to build a new unit together.

Youth Counselling

At times life can be difficult and it can be hard to manage on your own. When this happens, you can feel lots of different things - sad, scared, hopeless or angry. You can feel lonely.
